Art This Week

Added on by David Collins.

I had a great visit with the folks from Art This Week this past summer. We talked about the new painting process I am using to begin my pieces and its relationship to my prints. You can see in the video the painting Peal, in a very early stage.  Thanks so much to Art This Week, Richard Serrano, and my interviewer LauraLee Brott.

Dallas Art News

Kent Boyer wrote a really nice review of the show for Dallas Art News

"When you see David Collins’ work you’ll think, “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”  And if you look at a lot of art, you know how rare that is.  His style is mature and cosmopolitan and unusual.  You won’t be disappointed."

Modern Dallas Weekly

Added on by David Collins.

Todd Camplin reviewed Clearstory in Modern Dallas Weekly.

"David Collins says his work is about memory, but I see a lot of history here as well.   Collins paintings give you an overview of modern art in just one painting. The work is abstract, minimalist like muted colors, cubist/futurist like shapes, flat, but playing with dimensionality. Collins further connects through his reference of   collage and architectural objects. References to point perspective help to
trace connections from work made over 500 years ago."
